HYALURONIC ACID is a high molecular weight substance belonging to the group of glycosaminoglycans having a relative molecular weight of 0.4 - 3,0 million g/mol. It consists of approx. 1.000 to 10,000 disaccharide units in the form of long unbranched chains. The disaccharde units are composed of one molecule each of glucuronic acid and N-acetylglucosamine.
